Jay Z and Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind" is a great music video, because it shows a lot of images and the use of black and white to create more meaning to the lyrics which has given me ideas that I would like to consider using when it comes to making my own video with my group by the use of light and the setting of different locations. The music video and lyrics are showing the viewer of how and where Jay Z has grown up and where he is now, the video is an illustrative with only a little bit of amplification added to its basis which is a very simple and effective to show off to the viewer but came at a very high price in doing so.
The video features Alicia Keys which the viewer only sees when she is singing her lyrics in the song, she is mainly singing with Jay Z when she appears but there is no touching between them or any real choreography used for their movements which is unlike many other music video where a male and female are seen singing together.
