Analyses of A still image (Destiny's child)
Overall look
This still has a very sophisticated and expensive R&B feel. We see some very obvious similarities and differences in this still. All three ladies have got fur coats on which signify luxury and wealth. The way they are dressed lets us know its R&B rather than hardcore rock. All three ladies also have long curly hair of about the same length. All three ladies have a bit of skin exposed e.g. Their bellies which is obviously used to send out a sexualised symbol to the male audience this links back to laura mulvey's theory of male gaze. Although all women look very similar there are differences in the dressing. We immediately get a rough idea who the lead artist is because of the difference in clothing and position in the middle of the two other artists. Background and settingI get the idea that it is set in the back street of somewhere and the three ladies are some sort of highly respected gangsters. Typical of pop music videos according to Andrew Goodwins theory women are represented as objects/props in a highly sexualised way in order to satisfy men. It looks main stream and urban.
