(Question 1)
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The main influences for the music video that I have produced are definitely the bands "The Verve and Snow Patrol".
I have selected Snow Patrols song and video of "Chasing Cars", because one specific part of the video attracted me to it with the singer standing in the middle of the street without a care in the world, I thought that this would be very effective in my video if I was to change the camera angle and speed up the motion of the video to go with the pace of the song at that specific point.

I have selected the video of the Verve's song "Bittersweet Symphony", because the video is mainly about the singer walking without any care in the world so I thought that I would try and incorporate this in the music video with this screen shot relating to the videos screen shot.
To create an album digipak with cover to suit the genre of music that my artist produces I took inspiration from a number of artists and bands in the pop rock genre, which was a very difficult thing to find as for my album cover I wanted to have an image of the new and upcoming artist so that people would know who the artist was and to promote him even further. To find an album cover within the genre of music that had the artist on the front cover instead of just images of artwork was proven to be very hard. I took inspiration for my front cover and digipak from the artist and bands of "U2" and "Oasis".

I was influenced by the use of colour manipulation with the images of the artist/band and how the artist/band had their music equipment with them or playing them in the image. In my front cover I wanted to incorporate the use of his musical instrument and I chose to the idea of my artist playing a guitar with a little but of colour manipulation with the use of simple writing so that the audience are not distracted and focus on the image as a whole, also I noticed that these images were not in a plain background and had some meaning to them so I chose to have my artist in a studio showing to the audience where he makes his music and how.
For the advert that I have made for the artist I have found inspiration from the advertisements of the albums from the artists of "Coldplay" and "Ryan Leslie". From the "Coldplay" advert I have been inspired by its layout of having the image on top of a black background and having the writing in the black background. From the "Ryan Leslie" advert I have chosen to take a look at his attire and the way that he has an instrument in the image with him.

I have incorporated how the audience can either obtain from shops or download from a number of sources by putting the logos of HMV, ITUNES and Amazon MP3. I included some ratings and the logo of the artists record company so that people would know who the artist is signed to.
I feel that I have developed and challenged the conventions of the genre by having my front cover of the digipak of the artist and not of artwork and having the rest of the digipak filled with images of different instruments that relate to the artists songs along with the advert for the artist standing out with the simplicity of it just like other artists within the genre have done.
